So I downloaded Windows Vista Beta 2 64bit from MSDN and launched a clean installation on my HP Workstation xw6200 last night. When I got in this morning it was either still installing or it was "hung" at the point with the green progress bar and "northern lights" background. I assumed the installation was hung (or SUPER slow) and so I relaunched a clean installation only to find myself 3hours later in the exact same position. How long should this installation take? Has anyone else seen this? Recomendations? Thanks

Vista Beta2 64bit Install ...uh "hangs" I think
Possibly a bad download or a bad burn. Did you check the downloaded file with an MD5 verification tool? Did you burn the DVD at he lowest possible speed?
Also, it seems to help if you disconnect any peripherals you can while installing.

Hey Mark, thanks for the quick response. My initial installation (on an HP Workstation xw6200) is still progressing, albeit very slowly. While waiting for that one to proceed I went ahead and tried installing it an HP xw9300 Workstation, this succeeded without any issues although I had to use the on screen keyboard in order to successfully login. Using the regular keyboard kept causing failures. Anywho, I am slowing progressing. Thank you for the tips. At this point it just looks like it takes 8 or 12 hours to install on hp xw6200, i guess we'll see.
